How to Tuesday - Chai Tea Latte
This morning I woke up wanting something different than my usual coffee. I thought a chai tea latte sounded perfect so I went online to find a good recipe. I was shocked when all I found was a bunch of instant mix recipes and weird variations, one that didn’t even contain any tea (WHAT?!). Anyway I went and made my chai tea latte from memory instead and thought I would share my recipes with you. It is a lot more labor intensive than just throwing a pot of coffee on, but it’s worth it, and is a nice chance every now and again. This recipe can be easily modified to your taste. You can add more of, or omit any of the spices. I think you are supposed to add ginger as well but I didn’t have any.
Chai Tea Latte (Apparently the old fashioned way LOL)
Ingredients:
Cardamom – 1 pod (or a few shakes of ground)
Allspice – a few shakes
Cinnamon – 1 stick (or a few shakes of ground)
Nutmeg – a few shakes
Cloves - About 10 or 1/4 tsp (or a few shakes of ground)
Black Peppercorns – About 10 or 1/8 tsp
Black Tea – 2 tea bags
Water – 1 ¼ cup
Milk – 1 cup
Honey – 2 tsp (can sub sugar)
Allspice – a few shakes
Cinnamon – 1 stick (or a few shakes of ground)
Nutmeg – a few shakes
Cloves - About 10 or 1/4 tsp (or a few shakes of ground)
Black Peppercorns – About 10 or 1/8 tsp
Black Tea – 2 tea bags
Water – 1 ¼ cup
Milk – 1 cup
Honey – 2 tsp (can sub sugar)
1. Mix Cardamom, Allspice, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves, Black Peppercorns, and water in small saucepan. Bring to a boil.
2. Reduce heat to about medium low cover and simmer for about 10 minutes.
3. Add black tea to water and spice, cover and simmer another 5-10 min (or longer depending on the strength you want) My tea bags were a little old so I did about 10 minutes and it was still a little weak for me.
4. Stir in milk and honey, and bring back to a simmer. Strain into mugs, serve, and enjoy!
*For Chai Tea Latte Cold follow steps 1-3 and stir in honey. Strain Chill in fridge, then add milk and pour into glasses.*

My Package :}
YESSS! I got my new shipment of supplies today, and I can’t wait to start making my new products. So far I have Soap and Whipped Shea Butter Cream, but with my new shipment I plan on making sugar and coffee scrubs, lotion, massage oil, bath salts, bath fizzes, and 2 different kinds of face masques. Super excited I will post pictures as I get the products made.
I am officially appreciated by the Army!
So yesterday was a big day for my family. My husband reenlisted for 6 MORE YEARS! Woo that seems like a lot right now. There was a nice small ceremony where my husband was sworn back in and the jokes were in full force. Then to my surprise I got a certificate as well! It was a certificate of appreciation for supporting my soldier. This was the first ceremony I have ever been to, so I fumbled around not knowing whether to shake his hand, grab the certificate, pose for a picture, or run in terror. But it was great. And it was so nice to know that they relies that it’s not just the enlisted member that is making a commitment but the whole family.
